Ian Flemming

b. 1908-05-28 d. 1964-08-12

Born in the UK, moved to Jamaica where he began writing his famous "James Bond" series in the late 1950's while in his 40's. His estate in Jamaica was known as "Goldeneye", the name of one of the non-canonical films made posthumously. His estate was converted into a resort hotel which was still in operation in 2016.
