The second in the classic "Bond" series. Subsequently made into a film, the first that starred Roger Moore in the leading role. Forgive me, but I will always see Roger Moore as "The Saint", and not James Bond. This was probably the least bad James Bond movie from the '70s, and I would classify it as "watchable", with Jane Seymour lending class and poise to the role of Solitaire. The book, however, is another story. Although filled with language and attitudes that might be considered blatantly racist by today's standards, "Live and Let Die" takes a lively and colorful jaunt through (in the author's eyes) the African-American lifestyle in 1950's New York City, the Florida Keys, and Jamaica. Take it with a grain of salt. It was another time.
