This fast-paced thriller is the seventh to feature Detective John Corey and takes place shortly after his return from Yemen in the previous book "The Panther". Corey no longer works as a contractor with the FBI Anti-Terrorism Task Force. His current assignment with the Diplomatic Surveillance Group involves following a known Russian SVR agent. As usual, nothing is quite as it appears, and Corey is quick to suspect foul play. But this time it's the Russians instead of Islamic Terrorists who are plotting the unthinkable. If you're from the New York/Long Island area, you'll enjoy the author's detailed descriptions of the region and acknowledgement of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Quite by coincidence I finished reading this on the 15th anniversary of 9/11.
