Most people (including myself) remember Einstein for his well-known theories of special and general relativity. Nearly every one of my high school students knows that "e equals m times c squared".What Einstein is less well known for is his breakthrough theories on quantum mechanics. He was immensely vexed by the implications of his own conclusions and how they conflicted with what he (and everyone else) believed to be true. This was what prompted his famous statement that "God does not play dice". As Stephen Hawking put it, "Not only does God play dice, but sometimes he throws them where they cannot be seen."A great book for the science lovers out there, and an excellent read. The pages are filled with prose, not formulas, so there is no daunting mathematics that you will have to struggle through.
