Groton Long Point Police
Incorporated in 1921, the town of Groton Long Point is a peninsula beach community in Southeastern Connecticut.
Surrounded by rocks, the point juts into the waters of Fisher's Island Sound, menacing the Mudhead Rading Fleet each Wednesday evening during the Summer months.
Chief Jack Drumm of the GLP Police clearly spelled out the needs for his department's new web site.
“We're looking for something clear and simple to give the department an identity on the web.”
The result was just that. A simple template with a rotating image on the home page depicts the scenic village, its architecture and landscape.
The key to branding the site was the choice of colors and typeface matching the departmental patch and creating a simple, static XHTML site with a single page utilizing server-side scripting to provide visitor feedback.
